PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify a region to be encoded in higher image quality than its surroundings by a simple operations when encoding an image including a region desired to be encoded in higher image quality than in the surroundings. SOLUTION: In a method of image processing, first, an image of imaging objects is determined (S1) to put the image as a ROI(region of interest) at the center of the image. With onetime clicking of a priority coding region specifying button, a priority coding region specifying ring appeares at the center of the image (S2). After that, the ring is enlarged gradually. When the ring comes to include the ROI, the the priority coding region specifying button is clicked one more time (S3). Thus, the coding region is determined. When the coding region is determined, the image can be taken (S5) by pushing a shutter button. Image data captured by imaging are encoded together with information of the priority coding region (S6).
