PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous solvent secondary battery compatible with a Ni/Cd secondary battery at an operating voltage of about 2.4 V and less deteriorating in charge/discharge cycle life characteristic. SOLUTION: The nonaqueous solvent secondary battery comprises electrode elements consisting of a positive electrode 6 containing a positive electrode active material permitting Li+ to be reversibly accessible directly to a crystal structure, a separator 5 filled with an organic electrolyte and a negative electrode 4 for supporting Li, laminated in sequence, the positive electrode active material being a molybdenum oxide formed by baking molybdic acid whose peaks d (angstrom) appear at least at the following positions in powder X-ray diffraction: 5.29±0.05, 4.58±0.05, 3.46±0.02, 3.43±0.02, 3.04±0.02, 2.89±0.02, 2.65±0.02, 2.54±0.02. |
