The mudguard, fitted inside a motor vehicle wheel arch (9) to cover the top half of the wheel (6), consists of two semi-circular side walls (3, 4) of a thermoplastic material, facing towards the outer and inner lateral surfaces of the wheel, and a layer (8) of an absorbent material such as felt or a felted textile between the side walls, facing the wheel tread. An Independent claim is also included for a method of manufacture of the mudguard which consists of introducing layer of damping material and overmolding.
