PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a precision mold is provided to be capable of making high sag lens molds having a high accuracy, a high degree of uniformity and a nearly 100% filling degree. CONSTITUTION: A substrate is provided. A forming element(24) having a rotatable hardened cutting member(26) is provided, wherein the hardened cutting member(26) includes a predetermined shape for forming a micro-sized mold cavity in the substrate. The rotatable hardened cutting member(26) is positioned into a milling relationship with the substrate. By milling the substrate with the rotatable hardened cutting member(26), a predetermined shaped micro-sized mold cavity for molding a micro-sized optical article is formed. |
