PURPOSE: Polypropylene chips for pillow containing elvan and charcoal, a pillow capable of emitting a large amount of far-infrared rays beneficial to the human body by using the polypropylene chips in the pillow, and a manufacturing method of the polypropylene chips for pillow are provided. CONSTITUTION: The chips for pillow comprise 60 to 87 weight parts of polypropylene, 10 to 20 weight parts of elvan, and 3 to 20 weight parts of charcoal, wherein the chips for pillow further comprise an antistatic agent, the elvan has a particle size corresponding to a sieve size of 300 to 1000 mesh and contains about 7 ppm of germanium, and the charcoal has a particle size corresponding to a sieve size of 300 to 1000 mesh. The manufacturing method of the chips for pillow comprises the steps of drying charcoal in the powder state in a furnace of 60 to 70 deg.C for 2 hours; mixing the raw materials for 2 hours after putting the dried charcoal powder, polypropylene chips, elvan powder and antistatic agent into a mixer; and melting extruding the mixed raw materials at 180 to 200 deg.C, wherein the manufacturing method further comprises the steps of cooling the extruded material by passing the melting extruded cylindrical extrudate through cooling water; and cutting the cooled cylindrical extrudate to a certain length at a cutter, wherein the elvan has a particle size corresponding to a sieve size of 300 to 1000 mesh and contains about 7 ppm of germanium, the charcoal has a particle size corresponding to a sieve size of 300 to 1000 mesh, and the chips for pillow are formed in a cylindrical shape having diameter of 4 to 6 mm, length of 0.5 to 1.5 cm and thickness of 0.7 to 0.8 mm.
