PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extending/contracting-type tent structure with advantages such as the small number of members, a simple structure, and compact external dimensions. SOLUTION: The tent structure 1 is constituted of both an extending/ contracting-type framed structure 3 assembled by arch chord members 2, etc., as frame members and a sheet-shaped membrane material 4 stretched over the extending/contracting-type framed structure 3. In the extending/contracting- type framed structure 3, with two arch chord members 2 and 2 as a pair, the arch chord members 2 and 2 are arranged to intersect each other at both side parts of the arch chord members 2 and 2, and the points of intersection are pivoted by shaft members 6 and 6 to form an arch chord member unit 5 which can be opened and closed in the X-shape. By arranging the arch chord member units 5, etc., in the direction of a longitudinal row, connecting the top parts of the arch chord members 2 and 2 to each other in such a way as to rotate on the horizontal axis between the adjacent arch chord member units 5 and 5, and connecting the lower end parts of the arch chord members 2 and 2 to each other in such a way as to rotate on the horizontal axis, the extension/ contraction-free structure is provided.
