PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for obtaining an electrophotographic photoreceptor having excellent coating film quality by setting respective conditions of a cylindrical substrate, a stirring member and the shape of a coating vessel properly. SOLUTION: In the apparatus for manufacturing the photographic photoreceptor, the relation between the maximum length Df of the outline of the stirring member 4 and the inside diameter Dt of the coating vessel 2 is controlled to be Df/Dt<=0.99 and the relation between the maximum length Df of the outline of the stirring member 4 and the diameter D of the cylindrical substrate 1 is controlled to be Df/D>=1.23.
