PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an air conditioner able to be set to a dehumidifying operation mode that meets the living needs. SOLUTION: In a remote controller 2, four pieces of dehumidifying operation mode information Ae, Be, Ce, and De are stored in the storing section 21 of a microcomputer 13. Whenever a dehumidification button 14 is operated, the information Ae, Be, Ce, and De are read out cyclically in the order and transmitted to the body 1 of the air conditioner together with an operation starting signal. On the body 1 side, the information is stored in a storing section 3, upon receiving the information and signal and the temperature, humidity, air volume, and operating hour for dehumidifying operation designated by the information are set. In addition, a CPU 10 detects the temperatures and humidity by means of a room-temperature detector 5, a humidity detector 6, and an outdoor air temperature detector 5', calculates the numbers of revolutions of an indoor fan motor 7, an outdoor fan motor 8, and a compressor motor 9 from the relations between the detected temperatures and humidity and the set temperature and humidity, and starts the air conditioner for dehumidifying operation designated by the dehumidifying operation mode information. The dehumidifying operation can be actuated directly, by means of the operation starting signal. |
