PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing calcium carbonate having high whiteness after pulverizing for stabile production of products having high whiteness and hiding rate. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing calcium carbonate, carbonic acid gas is introduced into a suspension liquid consisting of quicklime obtained by calcinating shells or hydrated lime obtained by slaking quicklime, and titanium oxide and water.
