PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately inspect damages to a film. SOLUTION: A film inspection apparatus inspecting damages to perforations 2 on a cinema film 1 is provided with a film feeder 11 feeding the cinema film 1; an electrostatic capacity measuring part 22 and detecting part 23 detecting the electrostatic capacity through a pair of electrodes provided on both sides of the cinema film 1 put between them; and a waveform determining part 24 determining the existence of the damages to the cinema film 1 based on a detected change of the electrostatic capacity. The existence of the damages to the cinema film 1 can be electrically determined based on the change in the electrostatic capacity so that troublesome labor is not forced on an inspector, an imprecise inspection based on the inspector's subjective point of view can be prevented and the existence of the damages to the cinema film 1 can be objectively inspected in a short time.
