PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift and select device for transmission including a stopper for selection to restrict the movement end at the time of selecting operation wherein the stopper is constructed compactly which accomplishes suppression of the manufacturing costs. SOLUTION: The shift and select device of a transmission is composed of a first shift and select shaft 15 rotated by the selecting operation and moved in the axial direction by the shifting operation, a second shift and select shaft 20 installed parallel with the first shift and select shaft, engaging with a fork shaft 36, etc., by rotation and moving the fork shaft with axial direction movement, and coupling members 18 and 22 to move the second shift and select shaft with rotation and axial direction movement of the first shift and select shaft, wherein the arrangement further includes a stopper 25 which restricts the moving range of a first lever 18 or second lever 22 at the time of selecting operation and moves in a single piece with the first shift and select shaft 15 and second shift and select shaft 20 at the time of shifting operation.
