PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a windbreak device capable of effectively attenuating the wind force energy which blows down while changing its velocity and direction depending upon the altitude from the ground thereby turning the wind into a gentle one near the ground. SOLUTION: In a windbreak device provided with a windbreak means 11 installed in a freely rotatable manner on a support 10 erected upright, the windbreak device 11 is formed in a multi-stage configuration in the height direction of the support and by arranging a plurality of windbreak boards 13 adjacently located up and down with a deviation in position respectively between the boards 13 in the peripheral direction of the support 10 with all the boards connected together as one united body. Three windbreak boards 13 are arranged at the same level. The windbreak means 11 is equipped with a rotating body 12 for arranging the windbreak boards 13, and this rotating body 12 is installed in a freely rotating manner to the support 10.
