PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixing by which a size fixing agent having raised hydrophobicity absent in a conventional quaternary ammonium salt type cationic polymer is added to a papermaking system to improve sizing effects when the size fixing agent is added into a papermaking raw material prior to the papermaking to improve the sizing effects. SOLUTION: A primary amino group-containing polymer produced by polymerizing a monomer mixture consisting essentially of a specific acrylic monomer is added to the papermaking raw material prior to the papermaking.
