PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of preventing abnormal images from being generated. SOLUTION: A copying machine 50 capable of forming a color image is equipped with an intermediate transfer belt 2, to which a toner image is transferred from a photoreceptor drum 30, and a belt-cleaning device 40 for cleaning the belt 2. The cleaning device 40 is equipped with a fur brush 13 for removing residual toner by rotating while being in press contact with the belt 2, and a contact/non-contact mechanism 41 for making a fur brush 13 rotating member in contact and non-contact with the belt 2. In the machine 50, the mechanism 41 can adjust the contact pressure of the brush 13 with the belt 2.
