PURPOSE: A device for search a text string by inputting a basic consonant of the Hangul is provided to easily search a desired text string by using a terminal applying a reduced keypad. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises a reduced Korean keyboard(10) generating a scan code of a consonant positioned on a key button by pressing the key button positioning the six basic consonant of the Hangul and having a text string search button, an input stack(11) storing the scan code, a synthesis consonant group generation part(12) generating a synthesis consonant group, a synthesis consonant group stack(13) storing the synthesis consonant group, a text string storage(14) storing a certain text sting, an initial consonant group extraction part(15) extracting the initial consonant group by receiving a certain text sting from the text string storage, an extraction consonant group stack(16) storing the extracted initial consonant group, and a comparison/output part(17) reading out and outputting the text string started with a matched synthesis consonant group from the text string storage after comparing the accordance of the consonant arrangement between the synthesis and initial consonant group.
