PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an impact and make the improvement of return of a steering wheel in the vicinity of a neutral position and high speed straight advance stability compatible when reverse inputting from the dirigible road wheels side is done. SOLUTION: A steering damper is provided with a flow passage selector valve CV for selectively switching and connecting a pump P, a tank T, and left and right chambers CL, CR of a power cylinder P/C and cylinder passages 3, 4 for connecting the flow passage selector valve with the left and right cylinder chambers. Variable throttle valves 6, 7 provided on the halfway of each cylinder passage to limit in flow to the flow passage selector valve from the power cylinder and check valves 8, 9 for allowing in flow to the power cylinder from the flow passage selector valve are composed by the same valve element (main valve element) 24, and a pressure receive area on the power cylinder side is sufficiently smaller than that on the flow passage selector valve side. Check valves for recirculation 11, 12 opened by a small flow rate from the power cylinder and closed by a flow from the flow passage selector valve and fixed restrictions 13, 14 connected to these check valves in series are provided in the main valve element to open the main valve element 24 as the variable throttle valve based on a difference in pressure between the front and rear of the fixed restrictions. |
