PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which achieves a simple, quick and accurate measurement of the concentration of ammonia, in refined aqueous ammonia using an inexpensive measuring meter and an ammonia recovery device, provided with a measuring means for implementing the method. SOLUTION: The relation between the concentration of ammonia and the electrical conductivity, and that between the concentration of ammonia and pH as required are previously determined for a sample obtained by preparing ammonia in pure water for varying the addition thereof. Then, the electrical conductivity of the refined aqueous ammonia with the concentration of ammonia unknown is measured with a conductivity meter and as necessary, the pH is further measured with a pH meter. Resulting measured values are substituted into the expressions for the relation, to determine the concentration of ammonia in the refined aqueous ammonia.
