PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a finish for an elastic fiber excellent in time stability and prevention of mutual sticking of the fibers. SOLUTION: This finish for an elastomer fiber comprises (A1) a metal salt of a carboxylic acid expressed by the general formula (1) and (B) a base oil. General formula (1); (R-COO)m-M-(OH)n [In the formula; R is a 1-30C alkyl group or 2-30C alkenyl group, M is a divalent or trivalent metal, (m) and (n) are each an integer of 1 or 2 (m+n=2 or 3)].
