PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ornament composed of a metallic material having corrosion resistance more excellent than that of the conventional one and to provide the metallic material for the ornament. SOLUTION: This ornament is composed of a metallic material having a composition essentially consisting of Ag, containing, by weight, 0.1 to 5.0% Au and containing at least one or more kinds of elements selected from the groups consisting of Cu, Al, Ti, Pd, Ni, V, Ta, W, Mo, Cr, Ru and Mg by 0.1 to 5.0%.
