PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide powdered particles of an anionic surface active agent which reduce energy loads and efficiently dry a solvent mixture containing an anionic surface active agent in a short period of time not to cause the deterioration of the quality and, at the same time, have a low content of impurities such as unreacted alcohol, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The powdered particles of an anionic surface active agent are obtained by irradiating a mixture of an anionic surface active agent and a solvent with microwaves to at least partially remove the solvent. The method for manufacturing powdered particles of an anionic surface active agent comprises irradiating a mixture of an anionic surface active agent and a solvent with microwaves to remove at least part of the solvent.
