PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly refractive optical resin which solves defects of a conventional optical resin and is excellent in optical characteristics, mechanical characteristics, and thermal characteristics and also having good productivity. SOLUTION: This sulfur-containing (meth)acrylic acid thioester compound is represented by general formula (1) (wherein, R1 to R4 represent each independently H, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a nitro group or a halogen atom; R5 and R8 represent each independently H or an alkyl group; R6 and R9 represent each independently a substituent containing S; R7 and R10 represent each independently H or a methyl group; Z1 and Z2 represent each independently O or S). A polymerizable composition contains this acrylic acid thioester compound. A cured substance is obtained by polymerization of the polymerizable composition. An optical part comprises the cured substance.
