PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operation reliability by surely laying down a flap when a platform is lowered and improve usability by enabling the flap to be manually put up when it does not stand up due to some trouble. SOLUTION: A lifting device for a vehicle is provided with the flap 40 at the rear end part of the platform 8, the flap 40 being turnably fitted so that it can be in standing and lying states. The flap 40 is provided with a flap lifting member to engage with the flap 40 only in the standing turning direction, and driving force of a driving unit is transmitted to the flap lifting member. The flap is laid down by its self weight, and only standing of the flap is operated by the driving unit. Furthermore, a locking member for locking the flap 40 in the standing condition and a lock release lever for releasing the locking condition are also provided.
