ZOOM TYPE ELECTRONIC ENDOSCOPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom type electronic endoscope which enables a user to effectively observe the endoscopic observation image formed by a solid-state image sensor without a vignette and waste in either case of a wide visual field angle and a narrow visual field angle. SOLUTION: This endoscope is provided with mask shape changeover means 22 and 23 which change over the shape of a mask 31 of a display screen of the endoscopic observation image formed by the solid-state image sensor 14 to the shape chamfered at four corners at the wide visual field angle at which the focal length of an objective optical system 13 is short and the rectangular shape not chamfered at the four corners at the narrow visual field angle at which the focal length of the objective optical system 13 is long.
