PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an oxidation resistance of powder material for magnet, by providing a rust preventing function on the surface of the magnet material mainly consisting of intermetallic compounds and alloy of which the function is deteriorated by oxidation, and to improve dispersibility of the powder material into a resin binder and rotatability of the powder material in the resin binder required in a forming process of a resin bonded magnet, to manufacture the resin bonded magnet with a superior performance. SOLUTION: This surface treatment method comprises forming a surface modified film with hydride silane, which takes advantage of a hydroxyl group existing on the surface of the magnet material consisting of the intermetallic compounds and the alloy as a fixing site for the modified film, to obtain the modified film with high adhesiveness. Hydride silane as a modified film forming agent can form metalloxane bonding with a surface of the magnet powder without generating a dehydration reaction, to effectively provide an affinity with an organic substance on an inorganic substance, while the reaction for forming the metalloxane bonding conventionally has needed the dehydration reaction, which is a factor of the oxidation of the magnetic powder. |
