PURPOSE: To provide a fixing device with which the generation of a wrinkle on an envelope is prevented in the case of fixing the envelope or the like. CONSTITUTION: A pressure roller 13 is rotatably attached on a supporting member 55, and the supporting member 55 is oscillatably attached on a frame 52 to journal a heating roller 12. The pressure roller 13 makes the heating roller 12 pressurize the supporting member 55 by the spring force of an elastic member 60. When a turning lever 58 is turned, the contact part 58b of the turning lever 58 contact the contact surface 55b of the supporting member 55. In that case, the shaft 52b of the frame 52 engages with the oblong hole 55a of a supporting member 55, and the oblong hole 55a side of the supporting member constitutes a free end, and a contact part where the contact part 58b of the turning lever 58 contacts the contact surface 55b of the supporting member 55 constitutes a supporting point this time, and thus the contact pressure of the pressure roller can be reduced.
