PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method, for a containment vessel, in which a steel concrete containment vessel comprising a triple steel plate can be constructed with satisfactory efficiency. SOLUTION: The containment vessel 1 is provided with a liner 3, an intermediate tube 4 and an outer tube 5. The respective layers 3, 4, 5 are formed by connecting a plurality of steel-plate panel members. When the containment vessel 1 is constructed, the liner 3 and the intermediate tube 4 are formed, and rib members 13 which protrude to the inside of the intermediate tube 4 are installed. When the liner 3 is formed, end faces of panel members 3a constituting the liner 3 are welded through the rib members 13, a part is formed as an open part 14, another panel member 3b is installed in the open part 14 at a prescribed construction timing, and the liner 3 is formed.
