PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a device incorporated with a sheet body sucking and carrying mechanism such as an image information reader, by reducing installation space of the sheet body sucking and carrying mechanism. SOLUTION: A connecting member 128 constituting the sheet body sucking and carrying mechanism 110 is moved in a substantially horizontal direction. Oscillating mechanisms 116 and 116 are disposed at lower termination parts of first inclined guide parts 135 and 135 constituting guide grooves 112a and 112b for guiding spindles 28a and 28b fixed to an arm member side plate 14b of a movable arm member 14. The spindles 28a and 28b perform descending operations in a vertical direction by being guided by L-type groove parts 148 and 148 of oscillating members 140 and 140 constituting the oscillating mechanisms 116 and 116. When performing ascending operations, the spindles 28a and 28b make the oscillating members 140 and 140 perform the oscillating operations by pressing the oscillating members 140 and 140 and thereby the spindles 28a and 28b are guided to inclined parts of the first inclined guide parts 135 and 135 exposed.
