PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly roll a rolling material in a direction-change path and for reducing the abrasion of the rolling material in a direct-acting guide unit having a separator coupler. SOLUTION: An infinite circuit 21 is formed from a load path 16, a return path 12 and a direction-change path 15. A coupler, that couples a rolling material 7 to a separator 22, rolls in the infinite circuit 21. The thickness of a section, where slide contacts S1 to S12 that slide-contact with the rolling material 7 are converted, is formed uniformly in the separator 22. The cross section of the coupler is substantially formed into a uniform strip, so as to be flexibly guided in the direction-change path 12 at a radius of curvature RB that is substantially fixed, and is guided in the direction-change path 15 along the position, where the radius of curvature RB of the center of the strip of the coupler is made smaller than the radius of curvature RO of the center locus of the rolling material 7 but is larger than the radius of curvature RS of the locus of the slide contact S1 to S12.
