PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device whose service life will not reduce due to wear of an intermediate transfer body, having a wide range in selecting releasing agent materials, and which is suitable for rapid mass printing. SOLUTION: For the image forming device provided with an image carrier, having an elastic layer on the surface and which is rotated, while carrying a toner image and the releasing agent on the surface, and a releasing agent removing means for removing the releasing agent lying on the surface of the image carrier, the releasing agent removing means is provided with a primary removing means which is rotated, while bringing the prescribed removing part in contact with the surface of the image carrier for shifting the releasing agent from the surface of the image carrier, and a secondary removing member which comes into contact with the primary removing member for shifting the releasing agent from the primary removing member.
