PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently separating quartz glass from silicon pieces without contamination of impurities. SOLUTION: The method for separating quartz glass from silicon pieces is performed as follows: a treatment object, which comprises the silicon pieces to which quartz glass adheres, is dipped into a liquid; lightning impulse is applied to the treatment object in the liquid; and thus quartz glass is separated from the silicon pieces.
