PURPOSE: A semiconductor device is provided to reduce the required RAM capacity by dividing an interleaving RAM in a baseband modulator into a plurality of areas. CONSTITUTION: In case, an interleaving cycle is 80ms, when data of the final 10ms of the 80ms period are being read out, data of the other 70ms in the RAM area have already been read out. This point being taken note of the RAM area is divided into a 70ms equivalent length of memory and a 10ms equivalent length of memory. And a RAM area(005) is another 10ms equivalent length of memory. Thus, where the number of data contained in one transmitted/received frame is one unit, each of the RAM areas(004,005,006) consists of a number of words equal to an integral multiple of that unit.
