METAL CASING FOR EXHAUST GAS SENSOR OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a definitely secure connection between a casing 1 and a protective pipe. SOLUTION: The metal casing 1 for the exhaust gas sensor of the internal combustion engine is provided with two protective pipes 2 and 3, each comprising metal of the same type, which are fixed on the casing 1 being located coaxially at inner and outer positions and made protruding out from the casing 1. At least the outer protective pipe 3 of the pipes is welded on the casing 1, while both the protective pipes are separated from each other, radially at least within the respective areas thereof protruding from the casing 1. With at least the metal casing closed, at least the inner protective pipe is frictionally connected to the casing and geometrically in the axial direction of the protective pipe via protrusions 5 and 6 which are mutually engage radially at the inner and outer positions.
