PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a home automation system which operates various apparatus by using speech conversations enhanced in speech recognition accuracy without carrying out meaning understanding. SOLUTION: This home automation system 1 has a speech input/output interface means 10 which converts an input signal into input speech data and output speech data to an output signal, a speech conversation means 20 which forms the output speech data to restrict the input speech data until the input speech data coincides a prescribed conversation pattern and selects the processing item corresponding to the coincident conversation pattern when the input speech data coincides with the prescribed conversation pattern, A command generating means 30 which interprets the selected processing items and forms the control data to at least one apparatus and an apparatus interface means 40 which transmits the control data to at least one apparatus 3.
