PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a theft preventive cover device for a basket for a bicycle for preventing theft of a stored portable object from the bicycle basket during traveling. SOLUTION: In the basket for the bicycle capable of opening an upper end, a cover body for closing the upper end opening part by required area is journalled on a base shaft part of a basket body and is constituted so as to be openable/closable around a base end shaft receiver part, and a lock rod with a tip to be an engagement part is projected and disposed on one side on the cover body and the lock rod is selectively engaged to a lock hole constituted on a wall surface of a basket body.
