PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve product quality and durability of an interlock mechanism by enabling smooth turning of a forward movement preventing plate and reduce cost by enabling reduction in the number part items and man-hours required for manufacture. SOLUTION: A lifting device for a vehicle is provided with a holding member 9 having the forward movement preventing plate 60 for standing up to prevent a lifting object form falling from the front end of a platform 8 and lying down to allow the platform to slide forward of the holding member 9, and the interlock mechanism 66 for interlocking the turning movement of the forward movement preventing plate 60 to sliding movement of the platform 8. The forward movement preventing plate 60 comprises a preventing slope body for controlling forward movement and a supporting member extending from the preventing slope body. In the supporting member, the turning axis of the forward movement preventing plate is located at the rear of and apart from the edge of the preventing slope body.
