PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic isolator which can give an aseismatic effect stably even if it is interposed at a position where tensile force acts between a substructure and a superstructure during an earthquake. SOLUTION: The seismic isolator 3 wherein a plurality of metal sheets an rubber sheets are bonded on both sides and are integrated in a lamination layer between an upper and lower flanges 4, 5 is characterized in that the thickness dimension t of the upper and lower flanges 4, 5 is set as against a diameter D of a laminated portion 6 to be t>D/20.
