PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem of prior art in a magnetic bearing device, such that the measurement of a natural frequency of vibration and the regulation of a damper become unavailable due to the fall of a shaft caused by resonance that immediately follows to the variation of a variable weight, and such that a high-rank natural frequency of vibration cannot be measured, when resonance established by a primary natural frequency of vibration is large. SOLUTION: The fall of a bearing and the wrong measurement of a first-order natural frequency of vibration can be prevented by initially setting a plurality of dampers 3 for damping the natural frequency of vibration in the range, wherein the first-order natural frequency of vibration is varied according to the variation of a variable weight of the rotor of a magnetic bearing 1. Also, the control device for a magnetic bearing, capable of constantly and exactly measuring the natural frequency of vibration and setting the dampers for damping the natural frequency of vibration, can be achieved by measuring a high-level natural frequency of vibration following to a second-order natural frequency of vibration, and by improving the accuracy for measuring the high-level natural frequency of vibration, after setting the dampers 3 for damping the composition of the natural frequency of vibration, with respect to the first-order natural frequency of vibration.
