PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment for manufacturing a high quality hot-dip galvanized steel sheet practically free from quality defects. SOLUTION: The equipment for manufacturing the hot-dip galvanized steel sheet where a steel sheet to be plated is continuously immersed in molten zinc to allow the molten zinc to adhere to the surface of the steel sheet and form a plating layer has: a molten zinc vessel for storing the molten zinc; a sink roll which is provided in a manner to be immersed in the molten zinc in the molten zinc vessel and on which the steel sheet to be plated is laid on the bottom side thereof; a small vessel which is provided in a manner to hold the sink roll and whose top is opened; and a flow straitening mechanism for controlling the molten zinc stream from the small vessel and accelerating the separation of dross from the molten zinc.
