PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive which allows recycling of materials by easily re-releasing a decorative laminate plastic overlay, manufactured by attaching a plastic sheet onto a porous board, without breaking it. SOLUTION: The aqueous adhesive composition is an adhesive for obtaining a decorative laminate plastic overlay by laminating a plastic sheet and a porous board and is prepared by compounding (A) a polyvinyl alcohol-containing ethylene/vinyl acetate/polyfunctional monomer copolymer emulsion having a toluene-insoluble content of >=70 mass % with (B) a polyurethane emulsion.
