PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for generating a sub-screen of a TV are provided to control the speed of displaying the sub-screen based on the kind of the sub-screen and display the edge of the sub-screen in various colors according to the kind of the sub-screen. CONSTITUTION: When a user inputs a sub-screen on/off command, initial parameters for executing program are set up(S1), and a display control register of a video processor of a digital TV is extracted to judge the input command(S2,S3). When the sub-screen off command is detected from the display control register, the size of the sub-screen is initialized, and a display mode is set according as the sub-screen has been zoomed out or not(S7). When the sub-screen on command is detected from the display control register, the edge color, position and size of the sub-screen are set. An input signal is selected, and the display mode is set according to the state right before the sub-screen. A position where the sub-screen starts is set, and the display speed of the sub-screen is determined. |
