DRIVING METHOD FOR PLASMA DISPLAY

PURPOSE: To realize a driving method for a plasma display in which address operations can be surely conducted in a short time. CONSTITUTION: The driving method is provided with a reset operation in which display cells are made into a uniform state, an address operation which sets the cells into the state in accordance with display data after the reset operation and a sustain operation in which turned on cells are selectively light emitted in accordance with the display cell state set by the address operation. In the reset operation, uniform wall electric charge remains in the display cells. The address operation is provided with a selection operation which selects a turned- off cell, an erasing operation which erases the wall electric charge of the turned- off cell selected by the selection operation and a writing operation which forms the wall electric charge required to conduct a sustain operation for a turned-on cell.
