PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact, highly efficient and highly reliable system for a cooling device for a superconducting power system utilizing LNG cold heat. SOLUTION: The cooling device for the superconducting power system comprises a cold insulation tank 11 accommodating a superconducting coil 13 and a cooling medium 17, a cold storage tank 2 for storing LNG cold heat and a refrigerating machine 3 for liquefying the cooling medium evaporating from the cold insulation tank, wherein the cold storage tank has a low- temperature pipe 21 for flowing LNG, a high-temperature pipe 22 for flowing a cold heat transfer medium and a cold storage medium 23 for accumulating the LNG cold heat coming into contact with the low-temperature pipe and the high-temperature pipe, and the refrigerating machine has a compressor 31 for compressing the cooling medium that is taken from the cold insulation tank and evaporates, heat exchangers 32, 34 for making heat exchanges between the compressed cooling medium and the cold heat transfer medium and a reducing valve 33 to depressurize the heat-exchanged cooling medium to liquefy the same. |
