PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield machine preventing the interior of a shield body from being opened to a working face during maintenance and inspection of a cutter bit, and facilitating maintenance and inspection work. SOLUTION: During maintenance and inspection of the cutter bit 2, the cutter spokes 3 of a cutter head 5 are titled backward by a tilting cylinder device 12, and after the cutter spokes are retracted into the shield body 1 by a moving cylinder device 17, a pair of closing elements 21A and 21B is oscillated forward by an opening/closing cylinder device 23 to fully close the front opening S of the shield body 1. |
