PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the cause of applying stress by water pressure to a casing cover for forming a priming tank, leaking water by the occurrence of a crack at the root of an triangular rib at the root of a machine screw fastening part in the middle of the priming tank of the casing cover, and finally reducing durability as a self-priming pump when supply water pressure to the pump is high and when the water pressure is repeatedly applied in the self-priming pump. SOLUTION: A priming tank waterway part of the casing cover 14 of the self-priming pump is constituted by forming a projection 21 in a part reaching an inner wall for forming a suction channel 15 from an outer wall, and even at repetitive operation time of the pump, and even when the stress by the supply water pressure and the pepetitive water pressure is applied, rigidity of the casing cover 14 increases by the projection 21, and the stress can be relieved so that the self-priming pump having large durability on the supply water pressure and the repetitive water pressure can be provided.
