PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sock which approximates to the shape of a human foot as much as possible and can prevent the addition of the feeling of pressure or the like to the thumb side of the sock, when worn. SOLUTION: This sock characterized in that the sock obtained by tubularly knitting yarns with a hosiery knitting machine has an asymmetric shape in which the tip position G in the tiptoe portion 12 is placed at a position inclined to a thumb side 10 and further that thickness-increasing knitted portions 20a, 20b for increasing the thickness of the thumb side 16 of the tiptoe portion 12 in comparison with the thickness of the little finger side 18 are knitted in the tip portion of the tiptoe portion 12 at a place inclined to the thumb side 16 so that the shape of the tiptoe portion 12 of the sock 10 approximates to the shape of the foot of a person whose thumb is thicker than other fingers.
