PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device capable of realizing proper display mode in accordance with a condition by adding visibility and information in regard to characters and letters and symbols displayed on a road map. SOLUTION: A high priority display item is taken to be displayed in the case that overlapping of display items is produced by enlarging the character and letter size of the display item displayed on the road map as shown in the transition of (b)→(a). Therefor the visibility of the display item of the high priority is improved, and, for instance, is a preferable display mode for a user desiring to have priority over the visibility because the visual characteristic of an aged person or the like is lowered. The display item having not displayed until then is displayed in a space produced by lessening the character and letter size of the display item as shown in the transition of (b)→(a), and is the display mode preferable for the user desiring to have the priority over the information because it can be made display contents rich in an information amount. |
