PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tester for examining the repeated impact characteristics of a test body by repeatedly letting an impact bar fall freely from a predetermined height, capable of solving the problem of the conventional impact tester being created mainly for obtaining characteristics, when an impact load is exerted to destruct a material cannot conduct a test with a relatively small impact load is exerted repeatedly to damage the material. SOLUTION: The main part of the repeated impact tester is comprised of a stepping motor for winding up the impact bar to a predetermined height and releasing it, an impact bar gripping electromagnet 4 for speedily gripping the impact bar which collides with an impact body and recoils, a load cell 8 for measuring impact loads, and a controller 9 for controlling a series of operations. The impact bar 2 is used for the impact body, and the impact bar is suspended by a flexible wire 3, which will not extend or contract. It is possible to set the impact bar at any given location by the stepping motor 1 using a brake for winding up the wire.
