PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front fork in which a dead zone for damping force is not generated at the time of changeover in expansion and contraction motions and a structure does not become complicated. SOLUTION: The front fork wherein an upper side oil chamber 16 in an inner tube 12 and a lower side oil chamber 17 in an outer tube 11 are partitioned by a check valve 15, an oil chamber 18 opened to a reservoir R is provided in a hollow rod 13, the upper side oil chamber 16 is connected to the oil chamber 18 in the hollow rod 13 through a first port 19 formed in the upper portion of the hollow rod 13, and the lower side oil chamber 17 is connected to the oil chamber 18 in the hollow rod 13 through a second port 20 formed in the lower portion of the hollow rod 13, is characterized in that an extension side damping valve V1 having flexible property is provided on the upper part in the hollow rod 13 and the upper side oil chamber 16 is made open or close to the oil chamber 18 in the hollow rod 13 through the first port 19 and the extension side damping valve V1.
