PURPOSE: A horizontal deflection controller of an image display system is provided to correct horizontal linearity of a portion of a screen where horizontal linearity of the screen is required by applying a desired waveform so as to offer maximized picture quality to a user. CONSTITUTION: A horizontal deflection controller of an image display system includes an FBT(100), a horizontal output transistor(Q11), a linearity correction circuit(200), and a linearity coil(L12). The FBT induces DC voltage applied to the primary side to the secondary side to generate high voltage. The horizontal output transistor receives the DC voltage applied to the primary side of the FBT through its collector and outputs the voltage to a horizontal defection coil(L13). The linearity correction circuit varies deflection current flowing through the horizontal deflection coil by integrating and amplifying a waveform selected by a user, to correct horizontal linearity of a screen. The linearity coil receives the output of the linearity correction circuit to control the deflection current flowing through the horizontal deflection coil.
