PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a damage of elevator equipment caused by flooding without increasing the number of set water-level detectors. SOLUTION: This flooding preventing system provided with a remote monitoring controller equipped in an elevator elevation-operated in an elevator shaft installed in a building and a monitoring center to monitor-control the elevator operation remotely, and a flooding detecting means arranged in the elevator shaft to detect the flooding to the shaft, to prevent the elevator from being submerged by the flooding to the building, is provided with an evacuation commanding means 2 for evacuation-operating the elevator in either of the timing when a predetermined time passes after the flooding detecting means 1 detects the flooding, and the timing when an evacuation command is received from the remote monitoring controller 4.
